Dear Valued Smart Rentals Tenants:

First, we want to express how much we appreciate you as our tenants.  We are grateful you chose to be part of SMART RENTALS' Family. The coronavirus has thrust our community into unknown territory. We recognize this is a stressful time, and if necessary, we do offer alternative lease payment options to ease your hardship.

Please read this email carefully and make sure to contact us if necessary as detailed below.  Please be sure to include all of the necessary information we require to process any hardship requests.

If you have lost your job or your job has been put on hold, we are here to help you navigate through this process. There are several actions\steps that you will have to take in order to make it possible for both of us to go through this pandemic together. 

  1. If you have lost your job, or received a significant reduction in your hours, please open a task in your Tenant Portal and explain, in detail, the description of your claimed Financial Hardship and attach the following FORM . All communication will be within the Tenant Portal and will remain confidential.                                                                                                                       
  2. We will NOT charge late fees as long as we see you are making a good faith effort to pay your rent in full and on time. If you see late fees on future monthly statements, rest assured they will be removed from your account once all rent payments are made in full.
  3. We will NOT file for eviction as long as we see cooperation. Again, we ask that you please immediately communicate with us if you anticipate a hardship and complete these required steps.
  4. As much as you are trying to avoid any unnecessary social meetings, we are doing the same. We're working in an emergency mode and will take care of TRUE emergencies only during COVID-19.  We understand that sometimes a small thing is an emergency but we are asking you to think of you and our staff safety and submit tickets that are truly considered as an emergency.
